I know it’s the middle of the summer, and here in New York we just got over a massive heat wave that stopped everyone from going fishing for a while but as we learned from Game of Thrones, winter is coming! That means cold weather fishing and Stormr Cast Neoprene Gloves are just what you need.
It’s hard to get excited about neoprene fishing gloves but Stormr has made a really nice product. The Stormr Cast Neoprene Gloves are just like the Stormr Typhoon Gloves with one exception. The Casts have kevlar index finger and thumb tips. Fishing with braid can be detrimental to your health sometimes and this will protect your fingers from injury while on the water.
These gloves are constructed of micro-fleece lined neoprene that is waterproof and windproof. The seams are glued, blind-stitched and liquid taped to prevent water and cold from seeping in. The palm and fingers are covered in a material that gives you excellent grip. Spider-Man would be jealous! A great feature that often gets overlooked is that Stormr gave this glove a long wrist so you can pull a jacket over the top of it for extra protection from the elements. The Casts have an anatomical fit so they feel very comfortable on your hands. The fleece lining wicks away moisture keeping you warm and dry.
The only complaint I have about these gloves is the name. With names like Strykr, Typhoon and Torque, Stormr couldn’t come up with a name with more of a wow factor than Cast? I know. They want you to think about casting when using these gloves, but still. A little effort goes a long way!
Again, I know it’s still summer and these gloves won’t be out until October, but when you get a chance, check them out on our web site. They are really well made and for a product with no moving parts, the technology is pretty impressive. Stormr Cast Neoprene Gloves sell for $34.95 and are available in several sizes. They will make a lot of cold weather anglers very happy this winter.
