Review: Penn Conflict CFT5000 Spinning Reel

Finally, the Penn Conflict CFT5000 Spinning Reel is in stock! I’m not just saying that because it is a great fishing reel (which it is), but because now all sizes of Penn Conflicts are finally at J&H. If you are not familiar with the CFT5000, it is based off the same platform as the Penn Battle BTL5000. The Conflict differs in that it has one more ball bearing, slightly more drag, weighs a little bit less and has a techno-balanced rotor. All in all, worth the extra few dollars for the upgrade. The Conflict also looks a lot better with its black and gunmetal exterior.

The Penn Conflict CFT5000 Spinning Reel has an aluminum body and spool. It features eight ball bearings for smoothness, the aforementioned techno-balanced rotor to reduce wobble, and powerful, smooth drag system. It holds almost 300 yards of 30 lb braid which is perfect for inshore saltwater fishing. They sell for $149.95. Come into the store and put your hands on one, or just add one to your arsenal at
