The Penn Spinfisher V Spinning Reels have caused a renaissance for Penn. It started with the Sargus Spinning Reels and in a short time has led us to the Spinfisher V.

This is the reel you have been waiting for. I know that sounds ridiculous because there are so many great spinning reels on the market with better and better features but there isn’t another reel like the Spinfisher. It’s water tight design is perfect for 99.5% of anglers who get their reel wet.

Finally there is a reel with the same features as a Van Staal at a fraction of the cost. Now we are not talking about an apples to apples comparison here but the Spinfisher is a decade newer and has several technological advantages over the VS. Not only is it smoother, but it has a friction trip bail system that prevents premature bail trip. This is great for those anglers who are hesitant to switch to bailless. Now you can keep your bail and those expensive plugs you’ll be using won’t get lost because the bail trips over and cuts your line.

The Penn Spinfisher V SSV7500 is perfect for throwing chunks with an 11′ rod or jigging for grouper, amberjack or tuna. The 7500 is significantly larger than the 6500 so keep that in mind when you are trying to pick a reel.

If you are in the market for a spinning reel in the $100-$200 range, you should consider the Penn Spinfisher V. You get so much more for your money than any other reel on the market.
