The Penn Clash CLA2000 Spinning Reel is a magnificent entry into the light tackle market by a company that’s been on the up and up for quite some time. Penn’s Clash 2000 has the look and feel of a high-end, technologically advanced spinning reel – because that’s exactly what it is! A welcome entry to Penn’s already star-studded lineup, the Clash 2000 is perfectly tuned for light tackle saltwater duty – think sea trout, fluke, flounder and weakfish. As a freshwater reel, the CLA2000 will perform well above the already high standards that Penn has created for spinning reels. Bass, both largemouth and smallmouth, pickerel, walleye, and panfish all have to keep their eyes peeled for anglers utilizing this 9 sealed bearing machine. Newly added, Penn’s CNC machined aluminum gear technology, will give the CLA2000 a luxurious feel that no Penn’s had before. Additionally, the carbon fiber rotor will cut weight and add to the overall performance of the reel. The Penn Clash CLA2000 Spinning Reel will match well with 5-6 foot UL/L graphite rods with moderate to moderate fast actions. The braid ready aluminum spool will handle 165 yards of 15# braid.

I have had the 3000 for a few weeks now and I love it so far. The HT-100 drag system is a proven system that leaves little to be desired. The reel is very smooth and I have no problems in that department. I actually so far have no complaints. I wish it was made in the USA but not much can be done about that. Cast and line lay seem perfect off this reel, already love it much more than my Spinfisher V series. I liked it enough I ordered another in the 4000 size.
One of the lightest and smoothest spinning reels I've ever owned. I've been a Penn guy for 25 years and they really hit a home-run with this design. Excellent reel!
I purchased the CL5000 late last year so I've only used a few times but I really love it so far. Very smooth and very well built. I did make one mistake when I purchased it. I purchased it from Penn directly. Not a good idea. It took three weeks to be delivered and the price was higher than J&H tackle. I won't make that mistake again. Stupid Hurts!
