Product Description

The Shimano Saragosa SW SRG25000SW Spinning Reel makes its mark as a true giant slayer. The angry, all powerful Saragosa 25000 isn’t afraid of any pelagic, and is born to do battle with giant yellowfin, massive bluefin, trophy class wahoo, and even blue or black marlin – all without parting with a mortgage payment! I’ve personally used this reel throwing monstrous poppers at a cruising mako, and found it more than capable of taming that fish in under an hour. The SRG250000SW is still a sealed reel, so don’t worry about salt spray affecting the X-Rigid gear system or X-ToughDrag – which by the way confidently dishes out 44# of punishment. The cold forged aluminum spool has a huge capacity – you’re looking at well over 500 yards of standard 80# braid which puts it in the range of a standard 50 wide offshore reel! This thing lays waste to all in its path, and with Shimano’s X-Ship system keeping the Hargane pinion gear perfectly in place, there’s no chance this thing can’t stand up to a monster. The Shimano Saragosa SRG25000SW Spinning Reel comes equipped with a powerful 4.4:1 gear ratio that lets you put a ton of heat on that fish without wrenching your shoulder – additionally, because of the large spool size you still get the speed needed to rip jigs through the water column at a 45 in./crank pace.

    Love the reel

Took my new 20000 Saragossa to Florida with 500 yards of 80 lb braid. I matched it with 7.5 ft OTI tuna popping rod and love it. I caught grouper, big red snapper, and amberjack jigging butterfly jigs off the bottom in up to 300 ft of water. The nice part is the line retrieve rate, so it doesn't take so long to reel in. I will take it to Venice, LA in the spring for Yellowfin tuna. At 2:07 of this video is one of my victims: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ-lhuxBQNI&list=UURjvuQEnYjHVWxvdYAGGt5g

biased review as ive always only used Shimano. "the devil you know"

i bought the 10000. feels heavy duty. feels slight bind. maybe its normal. not sure as this is my first saltwater reel. ive had the bail close one couple times on a cast. very minimal in feature but it gets the job done.
