The Shimano Stella FI STL4000XGFI Spinning Reel is built using the best materials money can buy. It’s the Nissan Skyline GTR of spinning reels – a true Japanese masterpiece of engineering. With 24# of smooth, waterproof drag, the STL4000XGFI is used for heavy bass fishing applications, as well as large pike hunting, salmon fishing, and can easily handle bigger inshore saltwater species like stripers, bluefish, snook, redfish, and false albacore. Internally, the incredible Paladin gearing system as well as an astonishing 14 S-ARB ball bearings join forces to give you one of the smoothest retrieves you’ll ever feel. Seriously, it’s kind of insane. As with all Stellas, the XG notation means you’ll have a very fast retrieve speed (6.2:1 ) that can rip your line in at a 37.4 in./crank clip - this means you can destroy fish using topwater plugs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, small darters, and small tins. The Shimano Stella FI STL4000XGFI Spinning Reel is professional grade – a reel that’s worth every penny (you truly get what you pay for) and one that’ll become your favorite as soon as you pick it up. The CF Cold Forged Aluminum spool that comes on the STL4000XGFI can easily hold 200 yards of standard 40# braid, and even more if you choose a micro-line like MaxCuatro or Samurai braid.

Once you use a Shimano Stella, you won't want to use any other spinning reel on the market! This is my 3rd Shimano Stella and I still can't believe Shimano finds a way to improve on a outstanding spinning reel time after time. I use the Stella for inshore Saltwater Fishing and haven't experienced any corrosion issues, gears binding, premature bail flip, wind knots, bearing failures or drag failures. Mist them with fresh water, dry them off and they're good to go. All my Stella Reels are still out of the box smooth after years of use. My favorite features of the Stella is the effortless turning of the handle even with a large fish hooked, Quiet function and the SUPER SMOOTH and ACCURATE DRAG under any pressure. I've never lost a fish due to any malfunction of any Stella Reel that I own. Yes, they're expensive, but you won't have the buyers remorse that you may get from another manufactures "Premium" fishing reels. 100% Worth it.
