I've used the fusion for two seasons. First of all, it's not a dry top/surf-top. It's not meant for heavy surf fishing where you're taking solid waves or drenching spray in storm conditions. Overall, it's a well thought-out jacket and well-built. Plenty of pockets inside an out, hood (that stows), neoprene cuffs under the sleeves with Velcro band on the outside for tightening up when needed, armpit zippers, good main front zipper (non-metal/it won't corrode) and the neoprene panels at the arms really allow great freedom of movement. It makes a great shell for beach or boat fishing when the wind is blasting. Here are the downsides: It' is not really waterproof. it will take some light drizzle or light spray but solid rain over 10 minutes or so will saturate the outer fabric and then sweat builds up from the inside. Apparently, as far as I can tell, water vapor does not pass easily once the outer fabric is wet. So you get damp from the inside and the outside; the jacket get's saturated. It's tough to get it dry back in the truck. Takes a good two or three hours in the sun or overnight in the house. I think it's important to fully rinse the jacket after every outing so salt does not saturate the micro-pores and make it even less waterproof. I've tried the recommended washing-machine applied fabric waterproofing and it did not work well. Also, on long walks you can overheat despite the zipper and armpit zippers. Probably true of any jacket, but the "breathable" factor is not a miracle...you still sweat if you are exerting yourself. Overall I really like it and it looks fantastic...just wish it were truly waterproof. If you are not in heavy surf getting sprayed from the neck down...or you are not in solid rain, it's good.
