I absolutely love this reel. I have it paired with a St. Croix Tournament Legend In Shore rod and it has worked flawlessly. I can't say enough good things about J and H and Visser reels.
The Van Staal KILLER

I've been fishing my Van Staal VSX 250 and 150 for many seasons now and finally decided to give Visser a shot. WOW!! This reel is night and day better. From the craftmanship and design to the bullet proof performance I couldn't be more pleased. I take this thing swimming to my favorite rocks at montauk and it gets dunked and banged around but never misses a beat, its an ABSOLUTE TANK. This thing is the future of surf fishing. I love the handle too, always hated having to upgrade the VS handles and its cheaper! The drag is way smoother, no more jerky drag losing big bass. This thing screams!!! New fan for life!

Ok, let the naysayers begin about the pluses and minuses about this that and the other, but I’m here to tell you this Visser #4 is the “reel” deal…!!! The quality, fit and finish, attention to detail - it’s all here…!!! I love my Van Staals for sure. This Visser reel is every bit as awesome, and then some. I’ll admit I haven’t had it on the water yet, but if it performs as well as it is put together then it will be absolutely perfect. Thanks Josh and J and H for the opportunity to get this “blue” #4. Visser Reels is the next step from the mind behind Van Staal and Zeebaas. Rob is back with his latest creation. Visser Spinning Reels are fully sealed and submersible. They are designed to handle everything extreme fishing can throw at them! Salt, water, sand and other debris is not a problem for these reels. You can turn the handle underwater and the Visser will continue to get the job done. Visser Spinning Reels are constructed of anodized aluminum with hardened stainless gears and thirteen ball bearings. Turn the handle and they generate a ton of power. Combine this with 26-44 lbs of drag and you've got some serious fish stopping power! Rob continues to innovate with a telescoping bail actuator that makes accidental bail flips a thing of the past and a titanium spool edge that has a slick anodized coating that reduces friction and leads to increase casting distance. If you reel with your right hand, you are in luck. You can switch the handle to either side and the reel will continue to be fully sealed.
