Shimano 2020 Metanium MGL Low Profile Baitcasting Reels are super advanced freshwater reels! The body is constructed of a brand new magnesium CoreSolid design that is lightweight and rigid. They narrowed spool geometry to allow for the line to pass through the levelwind more freely, leading to longer, more accurate casts every time you throw a bait. The SVS Infinity braking system is one of the best on the market. Shimano upgraded the 2020 Metanium MGL to a brass MicroModule III main and dual bearing supported pinion gear which enhances durability and gives the reel a more refined feel. It features eleven ball bearings and a terrific Cross Carbon drag system. All of this in a lightweight, ergonomic low profile body that feels great in your hands.
