Cool!

The reel has been abused pretty hard since I got it. Winter here means surf perch from the beach and lingcod on the reefs along with pretty hectic weather. I can't complain about the rod either, I use it mainly for making bait on the kayak. But I will note that the fuji reel seat on the rod-along with most of your high end rods- is a little tough to get the Van Staal reel foot into due to it being so square. Another thing I thought was strange is the lack of a line keeper and a pretty cheap tool for taking the body apart. I had to buy a new tool off the bat because mine stripped out, being soft plastic. One would think on a $500+ reel that a comfortable reel foot that fits into common reel seats and a line keeper would be automatic. I can now say I own a Van Staal, but for the money you pay, I think the Tsunami SaltX that I have absolutely beat the crap out of is on par durability wise, and has a better drag system. Just my opinion. Thanks JandH for the cool combo!
